In this presentation, we present market forecasts for vision technologies in automotive advanced driver assist systems (ADAS), and explore the applications and industry forces that are driving camera fitment in vehicles. We also examine the unprecedented changes unfolding in the automotive industry – with long-standing vehicle architectures and business models under threat – and assess the impact of COVID-19 on the industry. We explain the influence of government mandates on the ADAS market, including the three generations of driver monitoring systems. Finally, we highlight what is most important and what is at stake as the automotive industry transitions to higher levels of ADAS and autonomous systems.

  • Mark Fitzgerald manages strategic analysis, research and forecasting for Strategy Analytics’ Autonomous Vehicle Service (AVS). Mark’s 20+ years of automotive experience includes: competitive market analysis, forecasting and consulting in the areas of automotive electronics and sensor applications in ADAS and automated driving, powertrain control, passenger safety and vehicle information systems. Prior to joining Strategy Analytics, Mark headed the Global Automotive Technology Group at IHS Markit and was a Marketing Analyst for Stoneridge/Pollak, a Tier one automotive supplier of electronic sensors and switches. Mark holds a BS in Business Management from Providence College.
