Marcus Edel

Marcus Edel is a software engineer in the machine-learning team at Collabora, Inc. where he leads the effort to optimize and apply deep networks for inference, with a focus on embedded devices. Marcus completed his graduate studies in 2020 with a focus on fast algorithms for core machine learning tasks applied to automated theorem proving. Since the beginning of his Ph.D. studies in 2015, Marcus has been involved in the development of the mlpack C++ machine learning library and remains a core contributor today. With his support, the project has grown from a simple repository for graduate student code into a fully-featured library that has been used in numerous industrial applications and hundreds of research works, with over 200 contributors from around the world.
