Mumtaz Vauhkonen

Mumtaz Vauhkonen is a Lead Distinguished Scientist at Verizon leading the Computer Vision and Advanced Machine Learning domain with a focus on IoT, Edge and 5G applications. Previously she was a Lead ML Scientist at Ford Motor Corporation and Nissan working on perception solutions for Autonomous vehicles and Level 3 vehicles, context-aware computing at Intel Corporation and Enterprise application development at Big 5 Consulting firm. Mumtaz received her Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering with a focus on deep learning and statistics from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and her Masters from Harvard University.
