Randy Allen is VP of Software at Flex Logix. His 30-year career has encompassed advanced software development in the areas of optimizing compilers, HPC, embedded systems and EDA. Dr. Allen has directly contributed to products including VCS, SystemC and many advanced compilers for supercomputers. He was the founder of Catalytic, Inc., and a cofounder of Forte Design. He has also served as Chief Architect at National Instruments, the first VP of Software at Cypress Semiconductor and head of the Advanced Technology Group at Synopsys. Dr. Allen is co-author (with Ken Kennedy) of a leading graduate level textbook, “Optimizing Compilers for Modern Architectures”. He earned an A.B. summa cum laude in Chemistry from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University.
