Tsvi Achler, CEO of Optimizing Mind, has been working on leading-edge commercial technologies from a young age. He worked at InterHDL, a company focused on verifying hardware simulations, which was sold to Avant, and at Cardiometrics, which focused on integrating sensors and was sold to EndoSonics. Tsvi is fascinated with the human brain and how its recognition algorithms work. He has studied the brain from multiple perspectives, including performing hands-on neuron recordings and cognitive experiments. Tsvi holds a PhD in Neuroscience and also obtained an MD, focusing on Neurology, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He studied computation at UC Berkeley, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering Computer Science, and completed three postdocs in machine learning and computational neuroscience (at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Los Alamos National Labs and IBM Research). This background has helped Tsvi formulate brain-motivated approaches from a multidisciplinary perspective.
