In this presentation we will delve into an innovative application of computer vision for power utility infrastructure inspection. We’ll begin with an overview of Buzz Solutions’ technology, emphasizing the use of computer vision for addressing critical challenges faced by power utility clients. We’ll highlight key challenges we’ve faced in using computer vision in this sector, including a lack of publicly available data and a lack of standards for data capture across utility clients. We’ll then explain how we overcome these challenges using innovative techniques such as generative AI. We will show the result of these techniques by showcasing Buzz Solutions’ PowerGUARD solution, a vision edge AI system for substation monitoring. Finally, we will share some of the key learnings and insights we’ve gained from applying computer vision in the power industry.
