Vikas Chandra is a Senior Principal Engineer and Director of Machine Learning in the core ML Technology at ARM, leading a team to enable deep learning on microcontrollers. Prior to this role, he worked at Arm research for over 10 years in the area of energy efficient computing. He received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004. Dr. Chandra is an author on 60+ research publications and inventor on 35+ approved/pending patents. He served as an Associate Editor for TCAS-I and has served on the technical program committee for Symposium on VLSI Circuits, CICC, DAC, ICCAD, DATE, ISLPED, ITC and IRPS. Dr. Chandra held the positions of Visiting Scholar (2011 – 2014) and Visiting Lecturer (Spring 2016-2017) in the EE department at Stanford University. His current research interests are in building energy efficient ML solutions for the IoT edge. Dr. Chandra received the ACM-SIGDA Technical Leadership Award in 2009 and is a senior member of IEEE.
