Timo Ahonen

Timo Ahonen is Director of Engineering, Computer Vision, working on augmented reality products at Meta Co. Prior to joining Meta, Timo was with Nokia’s R&D unit in Silicon Valley, where he worked in various research scientist and R&D leader roles in imaging, computer vision and data science. Timo received his PhD degree in 2009 from University of Oulu, Finland. He has co-authored over 20 scientific publications and holds 7 granted patents. In 2014, Timo was awarded the Jan Koenderink Prize for “fundamental contributions in computer vision that stood the test of time.”
