Max is an optical engineer who believes that optics matter as much as computer vision algorithm performance. He has a degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester. He was an optical engineer and sales manager at Sunex, a leading lens manufacturer, where he led the development of 25 custom/customized lenses and camera modules. After Sunex, he completed a robotics-focused MBA at Carnegie Mellon University. While at CMU and LDV Capital, Max founded Commonlands to help electrical, mechanical and software engineers succeed with new projects. He developed free online camera calculators that are available on his company’s website. He now helps companies navigate the camera hardware world while his company Commonlands provides components.
