The Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform powers the world’s best smartphones, XR headsets, PCs, wearables, automobiles and IoT products. These devices leverage the latest computer vision technologies that power Snapdragon’s ISP, AR/VR perception pipeline and advanced video capture features. In this talk, we’ll use real-world examples—with a focus on AR/VR products—to explore how Snapdragon developers harness these computer vision technologies to enable advanced use cases with premium features, performance boosts and power savings. We’ll also show how developers use the Snapdragon computer vision SDKs and their camera-centric APIs to tap Snapdragon’s amazing hardware computer vision technologies to create next-generation immersive applications.

Session Speakers

  • Judd Heape is VP of Product Management for Camera, Computer Vision and Video Technology at Qualcomm Technologies. Judd is responsible for road maps of these technologies across all Qualcomm businesses. Judd has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, starting in design engineering and later moving to product management. Prior to Qualcomm, he held positions at Texas Instruments, Altera and Apical Imaging (acquired by Arm in 2016). At Apical Imaging, Judd held VP positions for Engineering and Product Applications, which led to the licensing of Apical’s imaging and computer vision IP to seven of the top ten semiconductor companies, including Qualcomm. Judd has worked on expatriate assignments in the UK and Japan, has five issued US patents and has authored one worldwide JEDEC standard. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
