Social isolation among older adults is a burgeoning health and economic crisis. While traditional voice assistants wait for a command, ElliQ bridges the gap between technology and genuine human connection by shifting from reactive utility to proactive companionship. At the heart of Intuition Robotics’ human-centric AI is the ability to foster meaningful, trustworthy relationships that drive better health outcomes and sustained independence. In this session, we explore how embedded vision and perceptual AI allow ElliQ to sense the nuances of a room: identifying presence, interpreting availability and recognizing the subtle behavioral cues necessary to intervene at the right moment and within the relevant context to maximize engagement. We will dive into the technical and product journey of building a robotic AI companion, while also covering ElliQ’s impact on users, lessons learned from real-world adoption and the specific advances in edge AI required to empower future generations of the product.
