Edge AI has moved beyond choosing a single chip or platform. Teams now face a harder question: how to go from a prototype to a safe, compliant, large-scale deployment—on thousands to millions of devices—without drowning in integration work and life-cycle risk. In this talk, we define a true “edge AI ecosystem”: a coordinated stack spanning specialized silicon, system-on-module platforms, operating systems, AI runtimes, developer tooling and device management. We’ll explain how fragmented components create hidden costs (custom plumbing, maintenance, lock-in) and where deployments fail (security updates, versioning, long-term support). We’ll ground the discussion in real deployment patterns: using DEEPX + Virtium system-on-modules to accelerate prototyping and scale to production; applying Thistle to meet specialized security needs; and leveraging Peridio’s Avocado OS for production Linux, provisioning and secure over-the-air (OTA) operations. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for building maintainable software stacks, accelerating time-to-market and operating fleets with secure provisioning and OTA updates.
