Embedded design teams are moving from edge AI evaluation to deployment and need production-ready, system-level solutions engineered for deterministic performance, security and low power. This presentation begins with an overview of four production-ready edge AI solutions spanning vision and non-vision use cases: always-on keyword spotting for voice activation, arc fault detection for reliable power monitoring, anomaly detection for predictive maintenance and face ID for secure access control. We will outline the shared workflow and building blocks, including how Microchip’s MPLAB Machine Learning Development Suite streamlines the path from data to optimized models and deployment. We will conclude with a deep dive into our face recognition and liveness detection solution, co-presented with our partner WG Tech Solutions. We’ll explore the single-RGB-sensor architecture, on-device enrollment, biometric security and robustness to real-world conditions. We will also cover implementation guidance, performance trade-offs and integration considerations for access control and smart entry systems.
