Justin Schneck is Co-Founder and CTO of Peridio, where he leads the development of Avocado OS, an open-source, production-grade embedded Linux distribution built in collaboration with the Linux Foundation. Most teams building physical AI and edge devices hit a wall between prototype and production—months lost rebuilding custom Linux systems, debugging over-the-air (OTA) failures and wrestling with security compliance instead of shipping product. Avocado OS eliminates that gap, giving teams a single OS they can prototype on and ship in production, with immutable runtimes, atomic updates and built-in security from day one. Before founding Peridio, Justin co-created the Nerves Project, the open-source platform that brought Elixir and the Erlang runtime to embedded systems. His career began with a simple question—could he start his motorcycle from his phone?—and that curiosity has driven over a decade of work making hardware development faster and more accessible.
